Which thermostat to choose
Manual thermostat
You set the temperature with a dial. Simple and reliable, good for occasional heating such as a warm bathroom floor.
Digital thermostat
Shows the exact temperature and holds it precisely using the floor sensor. Easy to use, with an excellent balance of price and accuracy.
Programmable thermostat
A weekly program with up to 6 periods a day: warmer in the morning and evening, lower while you are at work and at night. This is where the biggest savings come from. Available with buttons or a touch screen.
WiFi thermostat
Everything a programmable model does, plus control from a phone app. Ideal for rental apartments and holiday homes: switch the heating on before arrival and keep an empty property at a minimum.
What matters in a thermostat
- Floor sensor – protects the floor covering from overheating; essential under laminate and parquet
- Load – the thermostat must handle the system's output; larger areas are split into several circuits
- Standard wall box – fitted like an ordinary switch, in line with other fittings
- One thermostat per room – heat only where you are
