How heating film works
Heating film is a thin strip with carbon heating elements about 1 cm apart. Most of its heat is radiated in the infrared range: it warms the floor, furniture and objects in the room, not just the air. Heat is even from wall to wall, with no cold corners and no dust circulation.
Which floors
- laminate and click parquet
- vinyl and linoleum
- carpets
- it can also go on walls and ceilings, and behind a bathroom mirror it stops fogging
Under tiles and stone we recommend a heating mat.
How we install it
- checking that the base is level, dry and clean
- thermal underlay across the whole floor
- laying film strips side by side, only on the free floor area
- connecting, insulating joints and placing the floor sensor
- PE protective sheet and the finished floor, with no glue
- testing and thermostat setup
Advantages
- installed in one day, no dust, no wet work
- room height practically unchanged
- parallel construction: damage to one section does not switch off the rest
- works on small areas, and the film can be removed and reinstalled
- ideal for apartments, holiday homes and cottages
The thermostat keeps the floor surface at up to about 25 °C, which is safe for wooden and laminate floors. More in Underfloor heating under laminate and parquet.
